报告题目：Spectrum of a Linear Fourth-Order Differential Operator and its Applications

报告摘要：

We apply thedisconjugacy theory and Elias’s spectrum theory to study the positivity and the spectrum structure of the linear operator u(4) + Mu coupled with the clamped beam boundary conditions u(0) = u(1) = u′(0) = u′(1) = 0. We also study the positivity and the spectrum structure of the more general operator u(4) +p(t)u coupled with u(0) = u(1) = u′(0) = u′(1) = 0. As the applications of our results on positivity and spectrum of fourth-order linear differential operators, we show the existence of nodal solutions for the corresponding nonlinear problems via Rabinowitz’s global bifurcation theorem.

报告人简介：

马如云，西北师范大学数学与统计学院学术院长、教授、博士生导师，甘肃省数学会副理事长，中国数学会第十二届理事。1997年在兰州大学获得博士学位，同年破格晋升为教授。1998年-1999年在美国康涅狄格中央州立大学（CCSU）、2004年-2005年在澳大利亚昆士兰大学（UQ）分别做访问学者。

主要研究方向是非线性微分方程边值问题及解集的分歧。主要研究成果发表在《Journal of Functional Analysis》《Journal of Differential Equations》《Discrete and Continuous Dynamical Systems》《Proc. Edinburgh Math. Soc.》等刊物上，被SCI引用2500多次。出版专著《非线性常微分方程非局部问题》《线性微分方程的非线性扰动》。

主持国家自然科学基金项目7项。作为牵头人，荣获甘肃省自然科学二等奖4次；获教育部优秀骨干教师、甘肃省优秀专家、甘肃省优秀青年、甘肃省名师奖及甘肃省园丁奖。2012年获国务院政府特殊津贴，2014年获中国侨界贡献奖。2015年荣获秦元勋数学奖。入选甘肃省科技领军人才第一层次和国家“新世纪百千万人才工程”。
